Dangerously Low Temps Cause Winter Weather Advisories Across the U.S.
Winter weather is continuing to move across the U.S. today with nearly half of all Americans under advisories.
Cities across the country are experiencing dangerously low temperatures, icy roads and even power outages. Last week we reported on a deadly pileup in Texas that killed nine people. Following that, one person was killed in Kentucky and another died in a crash in Oklahoma. Plus, 21 vehicles were involved in an accident on Saturday in Nashville. As of this morning, almost 3 million U.S. customers were without power and emergency declarations have been made in at least seven states, including Alabama, Oregon, Oklahoma, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi and Texas. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, some temperatures are forecast to result in record lows that are comparable to historic cold snaps in 1899 and 1905.
