President Trump Fires Director of Homeland Security Agency Who Disputed Election Fraud Claims
Yesterday President Trump fired the department of homeland security official who rejected his claims of widespread voter fraud.
The President made the announcement on twitter that he was firing Chris Krebs, the director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. He directly tied it to Krebs’ statement that said there is quote “no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised.”
Krebs said he learned from the president’s tweet that he was fired. He then later responded by saying quote “Honored to serve. We did it right. Defend today, secure tomorrow.” Krebs was responsible for a revamp of the department’s cybersecurity efforts and increasing coordination with state and local governments, as the first director of the CISA. His firing has seen some pushback from notable republicans.
