U.S. Reports Highest National Daily Average of 70,000 New Covid-19 Cases

The U.S. is now averaging around 70,000 new Covid-19 cases a day, the highest number recorded since the pandemic began. Over 40 states are experiencing increases of infections with nearly 43,000 Americans hospitalized. These are numbers that have not been seen since mid-August. Health experts are comparing this surge to that of a chaotic “wildfire” with “widespread transmission” being seen across the board. Those, such as Dr. Anthony Fauci, say it’s worse here as opposed to any other country because we entered flu season starting at a very high baseline of over 40,000 cases a day. This fall surge has already added nearly half a million cases to the U.S. national total in just one week. A new poll says the majority of Americans know someone who has contracted Covid-19. Even more disturbing, a new study in Britain revealed waning immunity to the virus, saying they witnessed a significant decline of antibodies in those who caught the virus over six months ago. Infectious disease experts are imploring Americans to double down on CDC guidelines more than ever before.
