President Trump Postponed Tulsa Rally by One Day
President Trump has postponed his Tulsa, Oklahoma rally by one day. This comes after many people were outraged by his choice of date and place to resume his rallies especially in light of the recent black lives matter protests. Tulsa was the site of the worst racially-motivated massacre in U.S. history and June 19th, otherwise known as Juneteenth, is the holiday commemorating the end of slavery. The president claimed he made the decision purposefully and would take the opportunity to discuss race relations in the U.S. during his rally. However, he has now decided to postpone the rally to June 20th. It has now been revealed by South Carolina Senator Tim Scott that the president was completely unaware of the significance of Juneteenth to begin with but commended the president for deciding to move the date by one day. Unfortunately, there are still many who were hoping for an even longer postponement. In particular, the Tulsa Health Director hoped the president would move the rally to a date when the coronavirus was not as big a concern as it is for them now. He is worried about ensuring the health of attendees, as well as the president.
