Historic Riots Result in Serious Injury, Death to Both Protesters, Police
Yesterday marked the 7th day of protests in wake of George Floyd’s death. Along with the peaceful protests, the rioting, looting, and destruction has continued. Thousands of people across the country have been arrested. At least two protesters have been shot and killed, including former Indiana University football player Chris Beaty. At least six officers have also been shot. One from Nevada is on life support after being shot in the head. Protesters and police alike have been hit by trucks and cars and entire families are left with nothing after their businesses were destroyed by rioters. Historic curfews have also been enacted in Los Angeles and New York City. In LA, curfew was set from 6 PM until 6 AM for approximately 10 million residents. The harshest since the 1992 LA riots. In the city that never sleeps, a curfew was ordered from 11 PM to 5 AM. The last time that city saw such restrictive curfews was in 1943 during the Harlem race riots.
