Restaurants Step Up After School Lunch Program is Suspended

The Horry County school lunch program was temporarily suspended after multiple employees tested positive for COVID-19. However, there still remains to be hundreds of children who desperately depend on those lunches as the only substantial meal they receive each day. Therefore, the Horry County School Board said they’re looking into alternatives in order to help them. Meanwhile, several local restaurants, like Cafe Gelato, are stepping up in a big way. They’re making free lunches to distribute to children statewide for the time being.
