Arizona Hospital Aid Caught Stealing PPE
An Arizona hospital aid was arrested for stealing $1,700 dollars worth of personal protective equipment and cleaning supplies. 49-year-old Keith Brown also lost his housekeeping job at the Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott shortly after his arrest. He admitted to the theft after police discovered the supplies inside his car and home. It included gloves, hand sanitizer, surgical scrubs, washcloths, paper towels, masks, bleach cleaner, toilet paper and an automatic hand sanitizer. Brown was charged with felony theft and felony fraud.
Law enforcement reported they were going to return all the equipment back to the hospital, which has been reporting PPE shortages similar to most hospitals in the U.S. The state of Arizona presently has over 2,000 cases and nearly 60 deaths. They have been under stay-at-home orders since last Tuesday with all non-essential businesses ordered closed.
