Tidelands Health Looking for Blood Donors

Tidelands Health is looking for community members to step up and donate blood. Due to fear over the pandemic, the American Red Cross is presently facing an unprecedented shortage of blood and have been forded to cancel numerous blood drives. If you are healthy and willing, Tidelands encourages you to call and schedule a time to give blood. Walk-ins will also be welcomed and everyone will be screened for potential COVID-19 symptoms. Adam Mattox, Director of Laboratory Services at Tidelands Health, said “donating blood is one way you can help as we all work together against the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.”

If you’re looking to donate, here is the current list of dates and locations in which drives will be held:

  • Friday, April 3, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Howard Gym and Auditorium, 1610 Hawkins Street, Georgetown
  • Wednesday, April 8, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Waccamaw Medical Park South, 4367 Riverwood Drive in Murrells Inlet, across from Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital
