Ben & Jerry’s Postpones Free Cone Day

There’s some unfortunate news concerning Ben and Jerry’s as the Coronovirus is causing the ice cream chain to postpone it’s annual “free cone day” event. The company is holding off for first time in 41 years saying it hopes to host the event later in the year. In the meantime, Ben and Jerry’s “scoop” shops will remain open as normal. Since 1979, the company has offered its “free cone day,” handing out over a million scoops around the world. The annual event started in Vermont as a way to thank customers for the support they showed during Ben and Jerry’s first year of business, which started in a renovated gas station.
