Search For Elderly Pawleys Island Man Continues

Multiple law enforcement agencies have joined the search for an elderly Pawleys Island man. Jimmy McCants is 84-years-old, six foot two, 145 pounds, and has gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen yesterday afternoon by his wife before running some errands. McCants’ Ford Explorer was discovered yesterday evening between the bridges on U.S. Highway 17, North of Georgetown. This new discovery has led deputies, fire rescue, and the coast guard to not only search the land, but also the water. McCants is known for being an avid community member, serving as Chairperson for the Pawleys Island Planning Commission and was even named named Pawleys Island Citizen of the Year before.
