Myrtle Beach Marathon Names Matthew Leonard as Winner
In lighter news, the Myrtle Beach Marathon and Half Marathon “went off without a hitch” this weekend! The winner of this year’s marathon was 29-year-old Matthew Leonard of Johnson City, Tennessee. He finished with a time of two hours, 36 minutes and fourteen seconds. It is his third marathon win out of nine races. He previously placed second in this same race in 2016 and it’s reported Leonard’s already looking to run in another race in Alabama later this month! Leonard offered advice to those who hope to follow in his footsteps saying, “the best thing is just to be consistent with training,” and not to get injured.
