South Carolina College Students Help Raise Money for Wendy’s Employee

South Carolina college students are raising money for a Wendy’s employee who lost their home in a fire. Last year, Malcolm Coleman and his mother lost their home in a fire on Malcolm’s birthday. Due to a lapse in their insurance, they were unable to afford repairs. Shortly after, Coleman lost his father, too. Since then, Coleman and his mother have been living with friends and family. Coleman works at a Wendy’s right across the street from the University of South Carolina in Columbia and when student Robert Caldaroni heard Coleman’s story he pushed his business fraternity to start a GoFundMe. Caldaroni said it was the least he could do for someone who goes above and beyond in his job and always remembers customers names and makes them smile. So far, the go fund me has raised almost $25,000 in their goal for $75,000.
