Tornado in Tennessee Kills At Least 19 People
At least nineteen people were killed and dozens of structures destroyed after a tornado tore through Tennessee early this morning. With the deaths, at least 150 more people are believed to have been hospitalized for their injuries. In the city of Nashville itself, approximately 40 structures have also been destroyed. Special urban search and rescue crews have been deployed throughout the state in order to hopefully locate survivors that have been trapped in fallen buildings, if any. Tornado warnings expired at 6 A.M. this morning, but heavy rains and potentially severe flooding should still be expected as the day continues. At least 50,100 reports of power outages have been received. Several schools are also closed throughout the state for unknown periods of time after they sustained serious damage.
