Coronavirus Cases, Deaths Increase in U.S. Over Weekend
A second patient in the U.S. has died from the coronavirus as the death toll surpasses 3,000 worldwide with 88,000 infected. The total number of cases in the U.S. has also risen by at least two dozen over the weekend. That now brings the total number infected in the U.S. to 89 people. The new cases were confirmed in Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington state, and Florida. Health officials are being more adamant than ever when it comes to outbreak prevention. They warn if you feel sick to take off work. They also suggest washing your hands often and thoroughly and not to touch your face, especially while you travel. Outside the U.S., the outbreak is worsening as well. Italy reported a 50% increase in cases over the weekend with 34 deaths. In Iran. it’s believed as many as 210 people have died from the virus. And countries that remained uninfected, such as Portugal, have just announced their first cases.
