President Trump To Sign Peace Deal With Taliban Tomorrow

President Trump is on the verge of signing a peace deal with the Taliban tomorrow. Bringing an end to the U.S.’ longest running war, it was one of his original goals coming into this presidency. This peace deal has been years in the making but the president didn’t feel ready to officially move forward until recently. There were several times in which he came close, however the president required the Taliban implement at least a week’s long “reduction in violence” in order to show their willingness to cooperate. Last Saturday the Taliban finally complied. However, many people have serious concerns regarding the deal slated to be signed tomorrow. As part of the agreement, the U.S. would also have to significantly lower its military presence in Afghanistan over a 135 day period. Many lawmakers want assurance that this “dangerous” deal won’t effect the safety and security of Americans.
