Vigil Today Will Honor Seven-Year-Old Who Died During Tonsillectomy

A seven-year-old girl from South Carolina died during a tonsillectomy. Last Friday, Paisley Cogsdill went to Greenwood Hospital to get her tonsils removed and was unable to be revived after her heart gave out less than a minute into the surgery. Paisley was reportedly a very healthy child up until then and had no fear going into the surgery. Her parents hope an autopsy will help answer some of the many questions they have regarding her sudden and devastating death. A vigil will be held later today for her at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Clinton with “a service to celebrate her life” and burial ceremony taking place tomorrow. A GoFundMe set up for the family has helped raise nearly $34,000.

*As of 2 P.M. the GoFundMe has reached over $38,000 and counting.*
