Woman Escapes Handcuffs, Attempts to Evade Police by Foot into Traffic
A woman evaded Myrtle Beach police by slipping out of her hand cuffs and running into traffic. 38-year-old Crystal Kitts was initially arrested for “aggressive panhandling” at a South Kings Highway business. She had to be forcibly escorted out by police in handcuffs and put into a cruiser. Police reported she was “extremely irate”, screaming nonsense and being physically aggressive. She told officers she was suffocating so they rolled a window down. As they approached the intersection of 3rd Ave South and South Kings Highway, Kitts slipped out of her handcuffs, reached through the bars in the officer’s window, and opened her door from the outside. She then ran on foot into the busy highway. It wasn’t long before she was apprehended once again. Kitts now faces charges that include escape or attempted escape from prison.
