Public Memorial and Candlelight Vigil to be Held for Faye Swetlik
An official candlelight vigil and funeral arrangements for six-year-old Faye Swetlik of Cayce have been announced. An obituary posted by Caughman-Harman funeral home detailed a public memorial service to be held at Trinity Baptist Church in Cayce on Friday at 7 P.M. The city of Cayce will also host a candlelight vigil this evening on the front lawn of Cayce City Hall starting at 5:30 P.M. It’s been reported candles will be provided by the city for the event. It’s also been announced that Faye’s funeral expenses will be covered thanks to the community rallying behind the family. They’ve raised almost $7,000 through A GoFundMe campaign. A memorial in front of the Churchill Heights neighborhood has also gathered hundreds. It’s full of teddy bears, balloons, flowers, lit candles, and letters. Meanwhile, the public is anxiously waiting for Faye’s autopsy results which will be announced in a press conference this afternoon at 3 P.M.
