Defense in Harvey Weinstein’s Trial Finally Rests
After weeks of testimonials, the defense for the Harvey Weinstein case is finally resting. Although hundreds of women have come forward with claims Weinstein sexually assaulted, abused or raped them, only a fraction actually took the stand. Even less can actually press charges as the incidents are passed the statute of limitations. But despite this, they have taken the stand to tell their stories and support those who are pressing charges. This included several actresses, a production assistant and a scriptwriter. It’s been reported 67-year-old Weinstein will not testify in his own case. His lawyers have also come under fire recently in the media, especially Donna Rotunno who said she has never been sexually assaulted because she “wouldn’t put herself in that position.” People say this is victim shaming and are disappointed that a woman in 2020 in making such outrageous statements.
