Bernie Sanders Wins New Hampshire Primary in Tight Race
Senator Bernie Sanders has won the New Hampshire primary after a very tight race. Sanders won 29.5% of the vote with former mayor Pete Buttigieg trailing close behind him at 24.4%. However, both candidates tied for delegates after they each gained nine. This means Buttigieg has 23 delegates and sanders 21. It’s starting to become clear these men are coming out as the top candidates in this race. And in a surprising turn of events, moving from fifth place in the Iowa caucus to now third is Senator Amy Klobuchar who gained six delegates. In light of the results, Andrew Yang, Michael Bennet and Deval Patrick have already or will announce an end to their 2020 presidential campaigns. All three candidates have said they did not come to the decision lightly, but after ranking very low in the caucus and the primary it ultimately became very clear they would not win this race.
