Florida Man Threatens to Assassinate President Trump Over Weekend

A Florida man is in custody following a failed attempt to assassinate the president over the weekend. 25-year-old Roger Hedgpeth approached a patrolling secret service member outside The White House and told him “I am here to assassinate President Donald Trump.” He then went on to explain how he would do it with a knife. The weapon was discovered and confiscated shortly after the secret service officer performed a pat down search. Hedgpeth was placed under arrest and believed to be a critically missing and endangered mental health patient. He was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation and will be held until further notice. It’s reported by a law enforcement official that “at no point during this were any secret service protectees in any danger.”
