President Trump Fires, Reassigns Those Who Implicated Him in Impeachment
President Trump was officially acquitted last week and took no time getting back at those who implicated him in the first place. Several key witnesses who testified against the president during his impeachment inquiry were either removed from their position or reassigned. This included brothers, one a national security council Ukraine specialist and the other, a national security lawyer, who were reassigned back to the Pentagon. U.S. Ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland, was also fired from his position. Republicans have been quick to defend the president’s decisions citing he has the right to remove, or reassign, anyone in the executive branch. The Justice Department also just confirmed it is vetting information obtained from Rudy Giuliani on the Bidens. The president claims the Bidens “acted improperly” regarding the Ukraine scandal, of which there has been no evidence thus far.
