El Paso Walmart Massacre Suspect Indicted on 90 Charges

The El Paso Walmart mass shooting suspect has been indicted on 90 counts. In August of 2019, 21-year-old Patrick Crusius drove ten hours to a Walmart in El Paso, Texas where he opened fire on hundreds of unsuspecting shoppers and employees. He killed 22 people and injured 24 others. When apprehended by police, he willingly admitted he was the shooter and allegedly also said he was purposefully targeting “Mexicans”. Evidence later discovered in the investigation would confirm his claims that this was a hate crime. Crusius has been indicted on 90 counts, including two federal counts per victim, hate crimes resulting in death, hate crimes involving an attempt to kill, and use of a firearm to commit murder and in relation to a crime of violence. Federal prosecutors say he faces multiple life sentences in prison if not the death penalty.
