Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebrated Along the Grand Strand

It’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day and people on the Grand Strand are celebrating in many different ways. A store in North Myrtle Beach gave kids free haircuts yesterday. They said the generous act was about more than giving underprivileged kids a free haircut, it was also about educating them on the civil rights leader. While they sat they learned more about him and were able to ask their barbers any questions they had. And a local Myrtle Beach seventh-day Adventist Christian school and church decided to enter a float into today’s parade. The school and church usually had children walk with posters but this year they wanted to do more. A teacher said the day is important since because of his efforts “we enjoy the freedoms that we have.”
