Woman Attempts to Set Off Bomb in a Walmart

A woman was arrested after she attempted to detonate a nail bomb in a Tampa Bay Walmart. 37-year-old Emily Stallard, along with the assistance of a child, was attempting to fill a mason jar with fuel, denatured alcohol and nails, utilizing a shoelace for a wick when she was spotted by a security guard. He saw her opening the unpaid for flammable materials and projectiles and immediately alerted an off-duty law enforcement officer. Stallard faces charges including attempted arson, fire bombing, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, child abuse and battery on an officer. Sheriff Chad Chronister said of the incident, “This woman had all the supplies she needed to cause mass destruction at her disposal. Had it not been for an alert off-duty law enforcement officer and a watchful security staff at Walmart, she may have followed through with her plans…”
