Parents of Greenville High School Graduates Could Be Fined $1,000 For Cheering
Greenville, SC (WFXB)–Cheering at graduation may put a dent in your wallet. Greenville High School right here in South Carolina plans to fine family members of graduates more than $1,000 if they make noise at commencement.
A school administrator warned students during a recent assembly to keep the ceremony a “dignified occasion”. The school district says administrators won’t actually cite cheering parents. Instead, the Greenville Police Department has the “authority to fine people in the audience who create a disturbance or disruption”.
