Taylor Farms Recalls Prepared Food Over Salmonella Concerns

Taylor Farms said it voluntarily recalled the prepared foods after Coast Citrus Distributors recalled its fresh jalapeño due to salmonella concerns.

Taylor Farms, the agricultural giant whose lettuce has been linked to a fatal cyclospora outbreak, is recalling several prepared products.

The products are made with jalapeño and include pico de gallo salsa and guacamole. Taylor Farms said it voluntarily recalled the prepared foods after Coast Citrus Distributors, which had provided the company with its peppers, recalled its fresh jalapeño due to salmonella concerns.

The products were distributed to national retailers. That includes Walmart, Target, Trader Joe’s, Kroger and Whole Foods. They were distributed across 26 states including South Carolina.

The products have a “best if used by” date through Aug. 16. Consumers should discard the products or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
