The outbreak has sickened 345 people across 27 states. Five people have been affected in South Carolina while three are sick in North Carolina.
The outbreak has been traced to jalapeño peppers from Sinaloa, Mexico, and were distributed by Coast Citrus Distributors.
Chipotle has stopped serving the affected peppers after being linked to the outbreak. The FDA is currently working to determine if the jalapeños were distributed to grocery stores as well.
