City Of North Myrtle Beach Asks Residents To Reduce Water Usage
The city is encouraging people to limit unnecessary water use, reduce outdoor watering and irrigation when possible and more.
The city of North Myrtle Beach is advising residents to voluntarily reduce their water usage.
The request comes amid severe drought conditions across the area. The city is encouraging people to limit unnecessary water use, reduce outdoor watering and irrigation when possible, adjust irrigation times and avoid watering during the hottest parts of the day.
Officials are also asking residents to check for leaks and repair them promptly as well as turn off hoses and faucets when not in use. The city says to offset the demand from sprinkler systems, eliminate irrigating on Monday and avoid irrigating between 6-9am.
The city also said odd-number houses should irrigate on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Meanwhile, even-number houses should irrigate on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
The city is joining Darlington and Florence which have also asked their residents to reduce their usage as well.
