The officer confronted a patrolman for heating up fish in the microwave, which caused a reported foul odor in the office.

A Myrtle Beach police officer was fired after a situation unfolded on Saturday.

The incident occurred at the department along N. Oak Street. 46-year-old Michael Debiase allegedly confronted a patrolman for heating up fish in the microwave, which caused a reported foul odor in the office.

The situation prompted Debiase to pull his department-issued handgun and point it at his co-worker. No one was harmed during the incident.

Debiase has since been fired. He was arrested and released Tuesday on charges of weapons, pointing, and presenting a firearm at a person.
