Man Accused Of Hitting Girlfriend’s Husband With Bat During Altercation

McGill was charged with attempted murder. Jett was charged with third-degree assault and battery and more.

Two men have been arrested following an altercation at a Food Lion on Sunday.

The incident took place at the store along 38th Avenue N. in Myrtle Beach. 60-year-old Raymond Jett is accused of driving from North Carolina to follow his wife and his wife’s boyfriend, 59-year-old Edward McGill.

Jett reportedly left a note on the windshield of their car while they were in the store. He then waited for the pair to come out. A verbal altercation broke out prompting physical contact.

McGill got a baseball bat and hit Jett multiple times, he fell to the ground where McGill allegedly continued to beat him.

McGill was charged with attempted murder. Jett was charged with third-degree assault and battery and three counts of unlawfully placing a child at risk.
