17-year-old Cain Clark and 18-year-old Caleb Velasquez were identified as the gunmen who opened fire at the Islamic Center killing three men. Among the decease is a security guard who is being remembered for his courage after authorities said his “pivotal” actions likely saved more lives during the shooting.

The deadly shooting is being investigated as a hate crime after police say authorities uncovered “hate rhetoric” connected to the case. Both Clark and Velazquez were found dead with apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds inside a vehicle a few blocks from the mosque. The investigation remains active as authorities work to learn more.
