Single-Vehicle Crash Results In Death Of One Person, Leaving Another Hurt

A Kia traveled off the right side of the road before striking a ditch and overturning multiple times before coming to a rest.

A crash in Robeson County resulted in the death of one victim.

The accident occurred around 11pm on Saturday. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the area of Lizzie and Ioan Church Roads near Fairmont.

A Kia traveled off the right side of the road before striking a ditch and overturning multiple times before coming to a rest on its roof in a field.

The driver of the car sustained serious injuries and had to be airlifted to a medical center. The right front passenger was identified as 18-year-old Ta’nyah Pittman.

Pittman was reportedly not restrained and was partially ejected through the sunroof. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is now under investigation.
