Investigation Underway After Lumberton High School Bomb Threat
Officers discovered several items identified as "suspicious or out of place" and called in a bomb squad for assistance.
An investigation remains underway after a bomb threat was made at Lumberton Senior High School.
Around noon on Tuesday, police responded to the school after receiving a 911 call regarding the bomb threat. Students and faculty were safely relocated while officials searched the campus.
Officers discovered several items identified as “suspicious or out of place” and called in the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad for assistance.
After an examination, the items were determined to be safe and posed no danger to students or staff. Normal school operations continued following the search.
A person of interest was identified and interviewed but the investigation remains underway and anyone with information should contact Lumberton officials.
