One family is offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest in a murder case.
On April 15, 65-year-old Ernie Locklear of Maxton was found unresponsive in the 2700 block of Morrison Road. He was transported to a medical center in Lumberton where he was later pronounced dead.
Locklear was reportedly working on a farm tractor at the time of his murder. Sheriff Burnis Wilkins with the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office said the situation was a “disturbing and senseless act.”
Further details are limited. Locklear’s family is now searching for answers and is offering $7,000 to anyone with information that will bring justice. If you know anything, you should contact Robeson County authorities.
