Thermos Recalls Over 8 Million Food Jars And Bottles
The recall covers around 5.8 million Stainless King Food Jars and 2.3 million Sportsman Food and Beverage Bottles.
Thermos is recalling over 8 million food jars and bottles.
The recall covers around 5.8 million Stainless King Food Jars and 2.3 million Sportsman Food and Beverage Bottles sold over more than 15 years. It was placed due to a dangerous defect that could cause stoppers to “forcefully eject.”
The containers lack a pressure-relief mechanism, allowing pressure to build up when food or liquids are stored inside for an extended period, causing the stopper to eject when opened. Thermos has received 27 reports of stoppers striking users. Three people suffered permanent vision loss after being hit in the eye.
The products were sold at major retailers including Target, Walmart, Amazon, and other sites. Consumers are urged to stop use and contact Thermos for a free replacement.
