Police Pursuit Leads To Arrest Of Larceny Suspect
27-year-old Joshua Locklear was identified and officials attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
A police pursuit in Robeson County led to the arrest of one man.
On Thursday, investigators responded to the area of Holly Swamp Church Road in Lumberton looking into several larcenies reported in the Moss Neck community.
A large amount of stolen property was located and investigators conducted surveillance in an effort to identify those involved.
27-year-old Joshua Locklear was identified and officials attempted to initiate a traffic stop. He failed to stop prompting a high speed chase.
The car briefly came to a stop before reaching Highway 72 West. As deputies approached, Locklear attempted to flee again.
An investigator discharged his weapon into a tire of Locklear’s car. However, he continued to run until the car became disabled on Moss Neck Road in Pembroke. He then fled on foot but was later apprehended.
Locklear has been charged with felony conspiracy, three counts of felony larceny, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and more. An investigation remains underway.
