American Woman Reported Lost At Sea In The Bahamas

Lynette fell into the water with the ignition key, causing the engine to shut off.

A search is underway for an American woman who went missing in the Bahamas.

55-year-old Lynette Hooker, and her husband, 58-year-old Brian Hooker, left Hope Town’s Abaco Inn on Saturday night on a small boat heading to their yacht in Elbow Cay.

While they were aboard the vessel, Lynette fell into the water with the ignition key, causing the engine to shut off. She was not wearing a life vest and the current carried her away.

Brian paddled back to a marina and reported the incident. Lynette is currently labeled as lost at sea as a search and rescue mission is underway. An investigation is active. The couple is from Michigan.
