Horry Co. Daycare Worker Arrested For Cruelty To Children

A daycare worker in Horry County has been arrested after allegedly holding a child upside-down.

The incident took place on January 9 at the Coastal Children’s Academy in Conway.

Security video captured 53-year-old Tyra Mosley grabbing a 5-year-old girl by her arm. She is seen spinning her around while holding her upside-down.

The incident unfolded after the girl ran from one classroom to another and threw a block at another child and a teacher.

Mosley is witnessed being rough with the child’s as she struggled and screamed in pain.

The girl was later treated for an arm sprain. She also suffered bruising that was “consistent with fingers squeezing” her arm and leg.

Mosley told police that the child was having an “outburst” and that she believed she was a danger to other students.

However, she was arrested and charged with cruelty to children. An investigation remains active.
