Ukraine Ready For 30-Day Ceasefire After Talks With U.S.

Ukraine expressed readiness to accept the U.S. proposal to enact an immediate 30-day ceasefire.

The U.S. and Ukraine have been hosting discussions regarding the ongoing war with Russia.

The U.S. has agreed to immediately restore military aid and intelligence sharing to Ukraine following bilateral talks in Saudi Arabia.

A joint statement after the talks held Tuesday said Ukraine expressed readiness to accept the U.S. proposal to enact an immediate 30-day ceasefire.

It can be extended by mutual agreement but must also be accepted by Russia. The U.S. will “communicate to Russia that they must reciprocate to achieve peace.”

The talks came less than two weeks after a contentious Oval Office meeting between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky late last month.
