Turkey To Export Eggs To The U.S. Amid Shortage

The U.S. is turning to another country for assistance amid the egg shortage.
The bird flu outbreak has resulted in the deaths of 140 million egg laying birds in America since 2022. 17 million died in November and December alone.
The deaths have impacted the egg market prompting limited supply and high prices. A carton of a dozen large grade-a eggs hit an average of $4.95 last month and retailers are limiting egg purchases per customer due to the situation.
America has now turned to Turkey for help. The country plans to export 420 million eggs this year, which will be the most ever to be imported to the U.S..
