DOJ Reaches Over $100 Million Settlement In Baltimore Bridge Case
All the money will go toward the U.S. Treasury and other federal agencies that were directly impacted by the incident.
The U.S. Justice Department has reached a settlement in the Baltimore bridge collapse case.
Grace Ocean Private and Synergy Marine Private have agreed to pay over $100 million to settle the civil claim. The case was brought by the U.S. for the costs in response to the “catastrophic collapse.”
All the money will go toward the U.S. Treasury and other federal agencies that were directly impacted by the incident or involved in the response.
In March, two black outs triggered by electrical problems on a container ship caused it to strike a pillar of the bridge resulting in the full collapse that left several people dead.
