Convicted Felon Arrested After Fatally Shooting 54-Year-Old Man

Just before 10:30pm on Saturday police responded to the area of Highway 74 and Harper's Ferry Road in Maxton.

A Rowland man is facing charges in connection to a fatal shooting in Robeson County.

33-year-old Cedric Locklear faces charges of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Just before 10:30pm on Saturday police responded to the area of Highway 74 and Harper’s Ferry Road in Maxton.

Upon arrival, officials found 54-year-old Nathan Jones shot and killed.

Locklear was arrested Sunday and is being held without bond in the Robeson County Detention Center.

Further details remain limited and an investigation is underway.
