Judge Overseeing Georgia Election Interference Case Drops Several Charges

A total of six charges contained in the 41-count indictment have been thrown out including three counts against the former president.

A Georgia judge has dismissed several charges in the election interference case against Trump.

A total of six charges contained in the 41-count indictment have been thrown out including three counts against the former president.

The charges dropped involve his campaign pressuring Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, including the call in which he asked Raffensperger to “find” enough votes to overturn Biden’s victory in the state.

All the charges dropped relate to alleged efforts to solicit Georgia officials to violate their oaths of office.

The judge ruled that while the charges do contain the “essential” elements of each crime, they fail to provide enough detail for the defendants to prepare their defenses.

Trump is now facing 88 charges over the four criminal indictments in Georgia, New York, Washington and Florida.
