NC Pfizer Plant Restarts Production After Tornado Damaged Structure In July

Most of the damage happened at the plant's storage facility rather than its medication production areas.

A Pfizer plant in North Carolina, restarted production after a 10-week shutdown.

On July 19th, the plant located in Rocky Mount sustained severe damage after a tornado hit the area. Most of the damage happened at the plant’s storage facility rather than its medication production areas. The storage area contained raw materials, finished medications and packaging supplies.

The Rocky Mount plant has over 3,000 full-time employees and contractors who started work again on Tuesday. The facility produces nearly 50 medicines including vital drugs such as anesthesia and more which are provided to hospitals across the U.S..
