Arrest Made After Victim Injured In Hit-And-Run

The victim was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and is reportedly in critical condition.

One man has been arrested following a hit-and-run in Florence County.

The situation unfolded around 8:45pm on Monday near Church and Palmetto Streets. A pedestrian was found in the roadway suffering from injuries after being struck by a vehicle. The victim was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and is reportedly in critical condition.

Police used Flock cameras to locate the suspect’s car and the driver was identified as Taquan Burgess. He has since been arrested and charged with second-offense driving under suspension, leaving the scene of an accident involving great bodily injury and failure to render aid. An investigation remains underway.
