World’s Oldest Known Person Died

The French woman was born in 1904 and would have turned 119 on February 11th.

The world’s oldest known person died in Toulon, France.

French nun, Sister André, was 118 years old. She dedicated most of her life to religious service.

Before becoming a Catholic nun, she watched after children during WWII and spent 28 years caring for orphans and elderly people at a hospital. She was born in 1904 and would have turned 119 on February 11th.

Sister André became the worlds oldest person after a Japanese woman named Kane Tanaka who was 119, died last April.

According to the Guinness World Records, the title of the oldest person ever recorded belongs to a French woman as well, her name was Jeanne Calment and her life span was 122 years old.
