Driver Reportedly Did Not See 3-Year-Old That Was Struck & Killed

An investigation found that a truck was traveling west on the roadway at a low rate of speed and was turning into a parking lot.

We now have an update following the death of a young child that was struck by a vehicle in Myrtle Beach.

Just before 7pm on Aug. 23, police responded to the area of 2000 Greens Boulevard on reports of a motor vehicle accident with injury.

3-year-old Asiya Masidikova was found on the ground in the roadway. She was taken to a hospital where she later died.

An investigation found that a truck was traveling west on the roadway at a low rate of speed and was turning into a parking lot. The driver reportedly did not see the child crossing in front of the vehicle when it struck her.

When the driver realized what happened, they reportedly asked bystanders to call 911. The Myrtle Beach Police Department is still investigating the incident.
