Investigation to Continue Surrounding ‘Wings Over Dallas’ Collision that Killed Six People
The NTSB says neither of these military planes had a black box.
The National Transportation safety board’s investigation into the mid-air collision that killed six at a Dallas air show over the weekend is underway.
The crash happened on saturday at the ‘Wings Over Dallas’ show as spectators were watching. A Boeing B17 Flying Fortress and a bell P63 Kingcobra collided and killed all five people on the B17 as well as the lone pilot on the P63. The NTSB says neither of these military planes had a black box so investigators will be relying largely on videos to determine how the crash happened. Authorities say a preliminary report will take about four to six weeks but, the full investigation will take between a year and a year and a half.
