This afternoon President Biden will speak at the JFK Library in Boston about “Cancer Moonshot”, an initiative to end cancer. The President will announce new steps to expand on his administration’s “Cancer Moonshot” initiative to decrease the number of deaths caused by the disease. Biden announced that his plan is to appoint Dr. Renee Wegrzyn as the first director of the advanced research projects agency for health, an agency confirmed to drive biomedical innovation that supports health of all Americans. The speech falls on the 60th Anniversary of JFK’s “Moonshot” speech in 1960 when Kennedy announced his vision for sending a man to the moon.
